Applications of flow visualization in environmental flows and education Dr. Sarah Morris, Montana State University The art of flow visualization allows us to make the invisible visible, and it is used to help us better investigate and understand flow physics. As icebergs float and melt far from their sources, transported meltwater can affect large-scale ocean circulation and marine ecosystems. In this talk, we will discuss how laboratory-scale experiments allow us to visualize and measure the meltwater behind idealized ice bodies to understand the coupled fluid flow-ice melt process.
